Documents, Licences, & Skills
On your profile you can include all kinds of information casting directors will find useful and search for.
To add this, go to EDIT YOUR PROFILE and then click on the EXTRA INFO tab and scroll down a little to find the following fields:
- Passports, Documents, Union Membership, etc
- Licences
- Sports played
- Dance skills
- Singing skills
- Musical Instruments played
- Other
If you do not see your particular sport or licence, etc, here then please get in touch and we will add it in.
Documents – which to choose?
In the Documents field you can choose one or more documents such as:
- EU ID/Residency Card
- EU Passport
- SAG-AFTRA Member :
- UK Passport
- UK Settled Status
- US Green Card
- US Passport
- and so on…
The reason we have these is to let Casting Directors know that you are free (or not) to be able to travel and work in different countries around the world.
For example, if you have a US Green Card you can work in the USA; if you have an EU Passport you can travel easily to any EU country for work.
This section explains what each document means.
NB the information here is presented as a very general overview of what each of these documents allows and is not meant to be taken as legally binding
EU ID/Residency Card
If you have an ID and/or residency card from ANY of the 27 EU countries, then you should select this. So, for example, if you live and work in Italy or Spain or Denmark then you have an EU ID/Residence card. This allows you to travel easily to other EU countries.
EU Passport
Likewise, if you have a passport from any of the 27 EU countries, you should select this. Again, it allows you to travel easily throughout the EU and also work in other EU countries without the need to get a work permit.
NB we know there isn’t really an “EU Passport” as such, this is just shorthand for “a passport from an EU member state”.
SAG-AFTRA Member
This is the US actors union and some American films need you to be – or not – a member of SAG-AFTRA.
UK Passport
If you have a British passport, choose this. Since Brexit, this means you might have problems working in the EU and casting directors will need to know this. However, if the film is being made in Britain then a UK passport will be more useful than an EU one.
UK Settled Status
This gives EU citizens living in the UK the same rights as UK citizens in the UK.
US Green Card and/or US Passport
Both these allow you to travel to and work in the USA. For some films shooting in both Europe & the USA, having a US document like these is useful for an actor.
Other
We also have here various other documents, for example Covid vaccination certificate.
Privacy
Anything you should choose from the PASSPORTS/DOCUMENTS field or the LICENCES field is hidden from most users. Only CDs and Admin will be able to see it on your profile.
All other fields are shown on your profile.
However, anything you select here can be found when someone does a search for actors. For example, someone can look for actors who have a Green Card and this will show all the actors who do.
