about the project
I’m a Peruvian-German film student living in Berlin. I’m in the casting process for my university final film, a short titled "Ghosts, Coming Home”, that I’m making with a producer from Zimbabwe, and together we wanted to work on a story that centred around the lives and experiences of refugees, immigrants, and people of colour in Berlin.
Logline: After being the victim of a hate crime, a young film student is pulled into a political extremist group as a paid hitman.
The tone of the short is drama but with elements of humour and surrealism throughout.
Shooting on 29/11, 01/12, and 02/12.

Hakim is a film student, struggling with what he wants to say in his work. He is politically aware but struggles to express it and oftentimes just stays quiet and complacent. Throughout the short, various things push Hakim to not only believe for the sake of it, but to act on those beliefs and stand up for himself.

Recently, due to the current state of Germany, she’s become more bitter towards the current political system and has joined an extremist group. When she hears that her friend was just robbed during a hate crime, she offers him an opportunity to join the group, hoping to bond with someone over their shared negative experiences.
