Re-Submitting to a Casting Call

Most of the time you will submit for a job and it will go straight through to the production.

Sometimes, however, there is a problem or something missing from the application, and then we will ask you to resubmit it.

This article, then, looks at some of the common reasons why submissions are rejected and then how to resubmit if this happens (see below).

Why your submission was returned

There are a few reasons why your submission was returned. These are the most common.

Wrong language

A production may ask for you to apply in a particular language even if the role is in another language.

So while the job might be for a Spanish speaker, the casting notice might ask you to apply in French.

This often happens if the production team may only speak one language – which isn’t the language of the role! If you submit your application in the wrong language there’s a good chance the production will simply not understand it and delete it so it’s important to get this right.

More information

It’s often the case that castings will ask for specific information, for example confirmation that you have a driving licence or your skill at snowboarding.

Or they may ask for a certain type of photo, e.g. one of you wearing certain clothes or with a particular expression.

Or they may ask for a self-tape where you perform a certain scene.

Or they may want you to confirm you live in a certain city or speak with a certain accent.

If you don’t include this in your application we’ll ask you to resubmit including the information or details which are missing.

Re-Submitting to the casting

If a submission is returned to you then you can simply re-submit when you are ready.

All you need to do is go through the submission process exactly as normal but, of course, making sure to make the changes needed for your submission to go through next time!
