An emotionally riveting, coming-of-age war story set in the 1990s in a border village on the Line of Control (LOC) that separates Indian Kashmir from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).
This is the story of a 17-year-old innocent, who through circumstance is compelled to work for the Indian Army Captain stationed at the Army base in the village, counting the number of dead militants killed in encounters while crossing over to the other side to join the militant camps.
”The Boy” is caught in the crossfires of the conflict, unable to leave, wondering each day if he will find the bodies of his beloved friends who go missing one by one, lying amongst the dead, strewn in the valley of beautiful yellow wildflowers, striking a harsh contrast between the beauty of the Kashmir valley and the reality and horrors of war.
This is an independent film, fully funded and greenlit. It has already been presented at the Cannes Film Festival market this year.

Quiet, a little reserved, bookworm, scholarly but NOT a nerd, has an innate vulnerability, aspires to become a writer, a loyal & loving friend who is willing to go to any lengths to find out what happened to his friend who has disappeared, courageous enough to hold his own in any situation, has a love & hate relationship with his father, an obedient son who disagrees with his father’s views, finds himself in the most impossible of situations but remains scrupulous and thinks his actions through, a generally happy young man who loses his innocence & goes down a path of inner chaos when he is sent by his father to work for the Army Captain in the most gruesome of circumstances so his family may remain safe.
Production will cover travel, accommodation, boarding, and lodging for all selected talent.
Fee: $ 800- $1000 per week + $ 200 weekly per diem

Pensive by nature, would love to become a singer, has the voice for it but not the heart enough to follow his passion as he would have to go against his father’s wishes, he knows what path his life will follow and is submissive to his fate, devout, gullible & easily swayed by religious & political rhetoric, has an inner angst that is unspeakable, the first of the boys to disappear (go across the border)
THIS ROLE REQUIRES THE TALENT TO SING IN HINDI/URDU. Only tape for Hussain if you can sing in these languages confidently.

She can play innocent while knowing exactly what effect she has on people, especially the boy. Manages to make him blush & tongue-tied as well while remaining quite unabashed herself.
