’After the Act’ is a dramatic feature film which follows a young couple dealing with the fallout from infidelity over the course of a single day and night.
We are casting for the lead role of Mia. We use improvisation when filming, working from a story outline rather than a script, so actors must be comfortable with thinking on their feet.
Production dates are from Thursday August 31st to Sunday September 3rd in Berlin, Germany.
We are an award-winning production company founded in 2007, now based in Malta, with members around the world, including Croatia, Australia, and the United States. We focus on producing bold and authentic feature films, both narrative and documentaries, usually tackling themes of love, relationships, and human connection. We have specialized in improvisational work since 2017.
The fee is €175 per filming day + 4% of net profits. We prefer to cast an actor already in Berlin if possible but otherwise transport/accomm will be paid.

An aspiring writer, Mia (24) came to Berlin as she was drawn by the creative vibe. Still trying to find her feet, she is in a relationship with Sam, who is 30, and also a writer. Mia relies mostly on teaching English online to get by, but it is not enough. She is looking for more work, trying to get into journalism and write freelance, but in the meantime Sam has to take care of most of the bills and it is causing some friction. Mia is open and spontaneous but she is also competitive with a stubborn streak.
