about the project

Casting ”Monkey Mind”.

Logline: Marcus drags his dysfunctional family into ’Monkey Therapy’ in rural Netherlands. What starts as an absurd attempt for reconnection, soon exposes power struggles and the destructive impact of his authoritarian control.

We are a passionate team of young filmmakers based in Rotterdam, made up of both current students and alumni, all eager to bring ”Monkey Mind” to life.

This is our third major film project, following our previous works: Silverback (30 minutes) and Happy Holocaust Day (22 minutes). We integrate themes of patriarchal power– absurdity & sincerity– and a new generation of Apes. This film places a special emphasis on performance, offering an opportunity for actors to take on forms of method acting and a physical performance.

Shooting 3-4 days end of October in Rotterdam.
Rehearsal mid October in Rotterdam.

Expenses only.
