about the project

Casting Hispanic/Latinx actors with excellent singing and dancing skills for "Moulin Rouge! The Musical".

"Moulin Rouge! The Musical" is the stage musical version of Baz Luhrmann’s legendary Australian film MOULIN ROUGE. It was developed over a period of ten years by Global Creatures. The Australian theatrical producing company assembled a phenomenally talented creative team to bring the iconic film to the stage. Book writer John Logan (Red, Skyfall) expanded the story and, in working with musical arranger/orchestrator Justin Levine, also expanded the score to feature over 70 songs, representing 165 songwriters administered by 31 publishers, spanning over 160 years of music – from Offenbach to Lady Gaga. Under the direction of Alex Timbers (Here Lies Love, Rocky, Beetlejuice) Moulin Rouge! The Musical began its pre-Broadway engagement at Boston’s historic Emerson Colonial Theatre in July 2018, playing to ecstatic, sold-out houses and receiving excellent reviews, including raves from The New York Times, Variety and The Stage. In July of 2019, the show opened on Broadway to great critical acclaim (including being selected as The New York Times’ ‘Critics Pick’) and commercial success. In September 2021, Moulin Rouge! The Musical was honoured with 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Performances: There are eight productions in production (or pre-production) across the world; Broadway, North American Tour, West End, World Tour, The Netherlands, Germany, Korea, and Japan. The character of Santiago has been very difficult to cast, so we are holding auditions in Spain with the hope that we can find people suitable for the productions.

We will be holding auditions in the first week of December 2024 in Barcelona. Successful candidates will be asked to make themselves available in Barcelona to meet the International Associates and Casting Team.

Paid work.
