about the project
Casting male actors based in Spain for the teaser of a short film.
Synopsis: With a tight shooting schedule and the team already hours behind, R faces a creative block that prevents him from directing his first autobiographical short film. He struggles to connect with the actor, can’t settle on an artistic or photographic style, and feels mounting pressure from his AD. He begins to have visions. The ghost of his only friend, his dog, appears, reminding him of his lonely childhood, which sowed the seeds of his resistance to teamwork. His greatest idols argue with each other about how he should direct the film. Ford, Godard, Kubrick, and Cassavetes clash intensely. He begins to doubt the loyalty of his crew, and an all-out battle ensues, full of references to films that define R. Every crew member has fallen, except for R, who realizes that without them, making a film is impossible. In his subconscious, he has a conversation with his true self, Ro Ravelo, about defining himself as an artist and learning to trust his team to complete the short film. R comes to his senses and, with newfound confidence, resumes filming.
Shooting in Barcelona between the 22nd and the 25th of November 2024.

Egocentric, chaotic, misanthropic, and a film buff, R has invested his solitary life in preparing to transition from cinephile to filmmaker. However, just as he is about to shoot his first short film, he suffers a psychotic episode in which his entire past collapses into the present, leaving him completely immobilized and unable to continue. Insecurity is a crucial element when discussing R as a character. This mental crisis feeds his insecurity and the vertigo of not knowing how to act when his dreams are about to come true. Throughout the film, he will experience an identity crisis that forces him to question who he truly is as a filmmaker.
