about the project

Casting actors for roles in a BCFE student film, specifically a lead actor and a supporting actor, as well as 6 actors for side characters.

Synopsis:  Breaking is a 5-minute short film about a college student with a busy schedule. We follow Maya as she struggles to maintain a healthy work-life balance. She gets through her repetitive daily routine by relying on destructive habits, such as smoking and drinking coffee. When she finally reaches her breaking point, she realizes that she needs to make a change in her routine to improve her mental health and be happier.

Shooting in Dublin/Kildare at the end of January/start of February 2025 (exact dates TBD)

This project is unpaid as it’s a student production, but food will be paid for.

She is quiet and tends to shut the world out with her headphones, usually listening to music. She also has several bad habits, such as relying on caffeine, smoking cigarettes, and staying up late on her phone.
