For a short student movie called “The Sign Dance”.
“The Sign Dance” is the story of Maya, a deaf teenager, she is funny and bubbly but a little shy and insecure because of her disability. She admires her older brother, William, and his confidence. They both love to dance. William dances on the street every day to earn money in addition to a small job. This is their only source of income, they have no parents and live alone.
One day, after catching Maya dancing alone, William asks her to go with him to an audition that could change both of their lives. Even though the audition could get them into a famous dance company, Maya refuses. She is convinced that the company would not want a deaf dancer and she does not want to make a fool of herself.
