Tony is a naïve man whose sense of loneliness and insecurity outweighs his logic. He latches onto those who offer their attention to him. His perspective on Carmen (the female anti-hero) pursuing him boosts his self-confidence whilst lowering his inhibitions. The possibility of forming bonds with someone reduces his acknowledgment of potentially dangerous situations. Tony is someone who spends a lot of time by themselves yet doesn’t thrive with his independence.
