How To Make The Most Of enCAST

Once you have joined and completed your profile, you want to make sure you enCAST is working for you in the best possible way.
So here, then, is a checklist of things for Actors to do to make the most of enCAST.

Your profile

  1. Auto Check your profile and follow the suggestions there – pay particular attention to those in red; make sure in particular, your MORE ABOUT ME section is complete with all the right info including your sizes, contact details, etc
If you’re a Pro Actor, make full use of your profile where you can:
  1. Add up to 15 headshots – just make sure these are professionally done though
  2. Add up to 15 CVs – you probably won’t need this many, but at least put up your CV in the languages you speak (e.g. one for English, another for German, etc)
  3. Add up to 15 language reels – again, add different languages and different styles/genres
Your showreels are incredibly important and can literally make the difference between getting a job offer and losing it.
If you’re a Pro Actor, you can add up to 15 showreels. These can be different genres (comedy/drama/theatre) and in different languages. But remember, it’s not worth adding short films or anything like that as no one is likely to watch them all the way through. CDs and directors will view your profile to get a quick idea of who you are and that means they’ll watch just a few seconds of a showreel.

CDs and directors use our search system to find actors for their projects.
This is how results are shown:
  1. Verified actors
  2. Pro actors
  3. other actors
So it pays to be verified

Your notifications

You can’t apply to jobs unless you know about them so it’s vitally important to set your notification preferences so we send you casting calls suitable for you.
Visit the Notifications page and make sure you have SEND BY EMAIL turned on; then set your preferences.
On this subject, go over to the Newsletters page and select a couple or more newsletters; these are mostly daily roundups of castings in different regions/languages.
As well as this, to keep a general eye on what’s happening in the acting world and enCAST, you should:
  1. follow enCAST on Facebook for castings, special castings, general info and site updates
  2. follow enCAST on Twitter – for castings, special castings, general info and site updates
  3. follow enCAST on Instagram – a little more general and fun than our other Social Media accounts
Also, if there is ever any outage on the site, or urgent request/problem, we’ll post on Facebook & Twitter to let everyone know what is going on.

Start submitting for jobs

Once you’ve set your notification preferences you can easily see which jobs are open to you.
We recommend that at least once per day you visit MY OPEN CASTINGS which shows jobs matching your age/gender, etc.
Do any of them take your fancy?
If so… apply!
