A lonely Helsinki woman working a series of low-wage jobs meets an equally solitary man by chance one evening, and the two cautiously attempt to build a connection despite the obstacles life keeps placing in their way. The film follows their tentative courtship through wintry urban Finland, with drink, misfortune, and missed opportunities repeatedly threatening to derail any prospect of happiness.
