Malik, who is of Kenyan descent, came to Belgium at the age of eight. He encountered the underground dance world in 2009, and dance soon became his passion. He regularly took part in dance battles but quickly broadened his knowledge and participated in productions such as “Shakespeare in Love” and “Is it Love with the Flemish Opera”. His perseverance was rewarded in 2015 when he won the popular talent show “So You Think You Can Dance”.
In 2018, he was driven to create his own theater production where dance and acting would play a crucial role. He went to work, put together a beautiful team, and by the end of the year the production “Dreaming with your eyes open”(Dromen met je ogen open) was playing at the Arenberg Theatre. The show was so successful that he was asked to perform it again in season 2019.
The reason he wanted to combine dancing and acting together will not come as a surprise: in 2016, he was given the opportunity to play a role in the VTM television series “Striker Brothers (Spitsbroers)”. Two seasons of “Lice Mom (De Luizenmoeder)” soon followed and in 2020 he can be seen in cinemas in the Dutch film “Our Boys in Miami (Onze Jongens in Miami)”.
Malik continues to combine all these passions with dedication and motivation. Dancing, acting, producing and creating is what has shaped him into the person he is today.
