Guido Superstar – The Rise of Guido’ marks the third feature film Silvio Pollio has written, produced, directed and starred in. His first film ‘How It All Went Down’ was critically acclaimed and won best picture at the 2003 Queens New York International Film Festival, which enabled him to make his second feature film, 'Shut Up And Shoot!' Silvio worked with Joe Cortese, Gary Busey, Tom Sizemore, James Russo, Daniel Baldwin, Debra Wilson and an array of other characters in this black comedy. The film won Best Picture at the 2007 New York Hip Hop Film Festival and was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director, the same year, at the California Independent Film Festival. The film’s co-star, Joe Cortese won for Best Actor. Over the past 25 years, Silvio has guest starred and appeared in multiple TV series and motion pictures and is currently playing Marcus Redmond in the new Warner Bros action series 'Arrow' and just completed a co-starring role in the mini series 'World on fire' for the sci-fi network. Silvio is currently prepping his next two feature films. 'My Name Is Coca', a Western set in 1884, which deals with the first unknown Cocaine trade during the days of the Wild West. It's likened to 'Tombstone' meets 'Scar Face' and is based on true events. Silvio’s other film, 'Once Upon A Night', an action drama that will include an A-List Hollywood and Bollyood cast about an Italian and an Indian family's involvement in an escalating drug trade set in a major city during the late 90's and early 2000's. This is also inspired by true events and is likened to 'Westside Story' meets 'Traffic'.
