A Jewish partisan fighter survives the Second World War and attempts to rebuild his life in Italy, becoming involved in efforts to help Jewish orphans emigrate to Palestine. As he works alongside a network of survivors and activists, he falls in love and must confront the trauma of the past whilst navigating the dangerous political landscape of the immediate post-war period. The series explores themes of identity, loss, and the struggle to find hope and purpose after devastation.
