Herrhausen: The Banker and the Bomb
(2023)
Alfred Herrhausen, the powerful chief executive of Deutsche Bank, was assassinated in a precision bomb attack by the Red Army Faction in 1989. This documentary examines his life as a reformist banker who sought to reshape global finance and relieve Third World debt, while also investigating the circumstances and lingering questions surrounding his killing. Through archive footage and interviews, the film explores both the man's visionary ambitions and the political violence that ended them.
