The Walk

A young circus performer from France becomes obsessed with the idea of stringing a tightrope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre and walking across it illegally. The film follows Philippe Petit's years of preparation, his recruitment of a small crew, and the clandestine operation to rig the wire high above New York City in August 1974. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the story culminates in Petit's breathtaking and illegal high-wire performance between the towers.
