A group of old friends, all in their seventies, make a pact that they will help one another die on their own terms rather than face prolonged suffering or loss of dignity. When one of them, Nicola, becomes entangled with a younger police officer who begins investigating suspicious deaths, the loyalties and secrets binding the group are tested. The series examines love, mortality, and the lengths people will go to for those they care about.
