Caught between his artistic ambitions, a romantic entanglement, and the turbulent political upheaval around him, he must navigate a defining moment in his country's history. The film uses the backdrop of real barricades and street confrontations to explore one individual's coming-of-age during a pivotal chapter of Latvian nationhood.
