Tainted Love: Gypsy

A documentary examining the disturbing case of Dee Dee Blanchard, a mother who fabricated serious illnesses for her daughter Gypsy Rose, subjecting her to unnecessary medical procedures in what doctors later identified as Munchausen syndrome by proxy. The film explores how years of abuse and control ultimately led Gypsy, with the help of her online boyfriend, to arrange her mother's murder. It investigates the psychological and social factors that allowed the deception to go undetected for so long, as well as the public sympathy the family had received from their community.
