Seacole
A dramatisation of the life of Mary Seacole, the Jamaican-born nurse and entrepreneur who travelled to the Crimean War to tend to wounded British soldiers after being turned away by Florence Nightingale's organisation. The film explores her determination to overcome racial prejudice and official rejection as she establishes her own "British Hotel" near the front lines to provide care and comfort to the troops.
