A group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-war Hollywood band together to launch their careers by opening a petrol station talent agency. They set about challenging the racial and sexual prejudices of the studio system, rewriting history in a way that would have given opportunities to those who were historically marginalised. The series imagines an alternate version of Tinseltown's golden age in which a fictional film called "Meg" becomes a vehicle for transformative social change.
