Europe's foremost virologist is recruited by a pharmaceutical giant to build the impossible: a single vaccine effective against every virus on earth. To prove it works, he must first create the perfect enemy: a chimera stitched together from the deadliest traits of every virus he knows... And then destroy it. Only as the work nears completion does he begin to understand why his employers wanted it built in the first place.
