A bumbling and accident-prone police officer causes chaos wherever he goes, making life difficult for his colleagues and the public he is supposed to protect. The film follows his misadventures as he stumbles through various situations whilst somehow managing to remain on the force. It is a broad French comedy playing on the gap between the idealised image of law enforcement and the farcical reality of its hapless protagonist.
