Colonia Dignidad

A young German woman travels to Chile in the early 1970s to find her boyfriend, who has been imprisoned by Pinochet's regime and transferred to a secretive German cult settlement in the countryside. Once inside the heavily guarded community, which is run by a manipulative and authoritarian leader, she must navigate its brutal controls and win the trust of its isolated members in order to engineer their escape. The film draws on the real history of Colonia Dignidad, a cult enclave that collaborated with the Chilean secret police during the dictatorship.
