Tatort is a long-running German crime anthology series in which rotating teams of detectives from different German-speaking cities investigate murders and serious crimes. Each self-contained episode follows a particular pair or group of investigators as they work through a case that often reflects broader social or political themes. The 2016 episodes continued this format, presenting a variety of standalone stories across the show's many regional commissioner teams.
