A group of schoolchildren become caught up in a violent conflict when their small town is suddenly occupied by enemy soldiers. The children must navigate fear, moral complexity and survival as the realities of war intrude on their everyday lives. The story examines how ordinary young people are forced to grow up rapidly when caught in the chaos of armed conflict.
