An American accountant gives up his successful career in New York to follow his Swedish girlfriend back to her home country, where he struggles to adapt to an unfamiliar culture, language, and her close-knit family. The fish-out-of-water comedy follows his often awkward attempts to fit into Swedish life whilst navigating the expectations of his new surroundings. The series blends culture-clash humour with romantic storylines, drawing on the real-life experiences of its co-creator Greg Poehler.
