Life Of A King
A former chess champion takes a job teaching at a troubled inner-city high school in Washington D.C., where he introduces the game to a group of disaffected students. Through the discipline and strategic thinking that chess demands, the young people begin to find direction and self-worth. The film follows both the mentor's efforts to keep the programme alive against institutional resistance and the students' journeys as they compete at higher levels.
