A Spanish television film dramatising the popular uprising in Madrid on the second of May 1808, when citizens rose against the occupying Napoleonic forces. The story follows the chaos and bloodshed of that day, depicting both the courage of ordinary people and the brutal reprisals carried out by French troops. The events portrayed mark a pivotal moment in Spanish history that ignited the wider Peninsular War.
