A recently widowed woman receives a life insurance payout far larger than expected, and on impulse travels to the Canary Islands with her best friend to spend the windfall in style. The two older women embrace a glamorous, carefree existence far removed from their ordinary lives, attracting romantic attention and testing the boundaries of their late-life freedom. Their escapade grows complicated as the authorities begin to take an interest in the suspicious circumstances surrounding the payout.
