Poupoupidou
Directed by Gérald Hustache-Mathieu (2011)
A struggling writer living in a remote snowy French town becomes obsessed with the apparent suicide of a local woman who modelled herself on Marilyn Monroe. Convinced that foul play was involved, he launches his own amateur investigation into her death, uncovering the secrets hidden beneath the surface of the tight-knit community. The film blends noir mystery with melancholy humour as the protagonist attempts to piece together the truth about a woman he never knew in life.
