Gulag Vorkuta
(2016)
A documentary exploring the remnants of the Soviet-era labour camp system centred on Vorkuta, a remote Arctic city in Russia that was once home to one of the most brutal gulag complexes. The film examines the physical ruins left behind, as well as the lives of those who remained in the region after the camps were dissolved, trapped in a decaying post-Soviet landscape far above the Arctic Circle.
