A young man arrives at a grand early twentieth-century hotel in Spain searching for his missing sister, who worked there as a staff member. He takes a job at the hotel to investigate her disappearance from the inside, becoming entangled in the secrets and scandals of both the wealthy guests and the downstairs workers. His enquiries draw him into a forbidden romance with the hotel owner's daughter, whilst darker conspiracies lurking beneath the hotel's elegant surface begin to emerge.
