Entebbe
Regie José Padilha (2018)
A dramatisation of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight by pro-Palestinian militants, who diverted the plane to Entebbe, Uganda, with the backing of Idi Amin's regime. The film follows both the hostage crisis and the political deliberations in Israel as the government weighs a daring military rescue operation. Particular attention is given to the moral conflicts experienced by two of the German hijackers, Wilfried Böse and Brigitte Kuhlmann, as they grapple with the implications of their actions.
