A mockumentary following the preparations for a lavish birthday party thrown by a fictional British billionaire fashion mogul on the Greek island of Mykonos. As the extravagant celebrations unfold, the film skewers the obscene wealth of the super-rich and the exploitative practices underpinning fast fashion, whilst refugees camped nearby provide a stark contrast. Director Michael Winterbottom uses the format to deliver a sharp satirical critique of inequality and corporate greed.
