Actors (m/f), 20-45, English / AM. English spkrs, for Short Film (Independent, Proof-of-Concept)
Casting Overview
"Gang" is an independent short film - a self-contained side story set within a larger feature film concept currently in development. The short is being made as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate tone, character dynamics, and creative vision in order to help secure funding for a full feature-length film.
Written and directed by Leonard Kolarčik, age 16. This is a seriously developed passion project produced with the direct involvement of a parent, who handles all contracts and agreements and is present on set throughout the shoot.
Tone: a grounded comedy with real emotional weight — character-driven, a little absurd, occasionally unafraid to go somewhere genuinely tense or eerie. Indie dramedy with teeth, not slapstick.
All dialogue is a guide to meaning, intention, and rhythm — not something to be delivered word-for-word. Actors are encouraged to adapt phrasing to their natural voice, accent, and cultural background, as long as the core meaning is preserved.
Location: Austria. The story is set in the United States; the shoot takes place locally, dressed to read as American countryside/roadside locations.
Shoot dates: not yet finalised. Targeting a multi-day shoot window during an upcoming school break; exact dates to be confirmed with cast once locked.
Compensation: Unpaid/deferred. Reasonable on-set expenses (food during shoot days, local transport if needed) will be covered by the production.
If this short is well received and the feature moves forward, the intention is to continue with the same cast into the feature film. This is not a guarantee — funding and timelines are not certain — but it is a genuine goal.
