about the project
Front Row Theatre is casting for ” BOTHWELL, Prisoner of Malmö” by Torquil MacLeod, Susan MacLeod and Fraser James MacLeod.
Logline: James Hepburn, fourth Earl of Bothwell, was a famous prisoner at Malmöhus slott in 1569, and this newly written play tells the story behind the man – it is a tale of plotting, intrigue, love and power.
This is a low-budget project, so payment will be on a performance-by-performance basis.
Auditions will be held on the evening of Saturday 2nd April in Malmö.

Character: Ylva, Jailor’s daughter, is a co-lead in this two-person show. She is strong, no-nonsense and with a healthy dose of cynicism. While she is a character in her own right, she helps to tell the story of Bothwell by transforming herself into many different important figures from Bothwell’s life – not least May Stuart, Queen of Scots.
Our actor for this role will need to have a strong grasp of English, as well as an ability to change character quickly and adapt her voice accordingly. Applicants should be based in Skåne.
