about the project
Casting 'Beliefs', a low-budget short film about belief systems and how they can tear families apart. This story is about Lyla a 17-year-old girl who is faced with needing to survive on the streets of a big urban city due to a conflict with her conservative Christian mother over her sexuality.
Logline: As Lyla is faced with the harsh reality of homeless LGBTQ+ youth, her sister Charlie shows up in an effort to save her so their mom and ultimately God can forgive her 'sins,' stirring a conflict that challenges the meaning of love and acceptance.
Shooting in November 2024, in Rotterdam.
