For a short film by first year BUAS students, titled ’Promised Land’.

Filming on the 20th May in Gilze – Rijen (near Breda and Tilburg).

Synopsis: Lucy is a 19-year-old girl who lives with her sick mother, Eve, in very poor conditions. She works a dead-end job to make ends meet, so, when Lucy gets fired from that job she is at a loss. With the last money she has, Lucy sets of to the pharmacy to buy her mom medicine, but bumps into Ms. Lilith along the way. Ms. Lilith offers Lucy a modelling job, which she doesn’t accept nor decline at first. However, after their interaction, both women set off into different directions, and Lucy finds out she lost her wallet when she bumped into Ms. Lilith. She goes back to the place it happened, but her wallet is nowhere to be seen. She comes home in defeat, seeing her mom in a restless sleep, and decides to take her chances by calling Ms. Lilith. It turns out, however, that Ms. Lilith was not who she said she was, and Lucy ends up being sex trafficked.

Travel expenses will be paid, and food and drinks are available on set.
