For the short fiction film, ’MANU’. This project is a graduation film at the Dutch Academy of Image Creation. MANU is a film in which feelings of love and loneliness are central. The film explores the main character’s identity crisis as a result of trauma. In Manu’s case, the lack of reflection leads to self-destruction.
SYNOPSIS
The film follows the character Manu. Manu hides her vulnerable state behind a dominant image in response to her traumatic past that (despite that) is still around. She leads a hedonistic life that takes place in a large warehouse where she lives and a club in the city that she frequents. There she meets Eros. After an intimate first night comes the distance that drives Manu to a manic state. Without Eros, her formed identity cannot survive. The obsession with Eros leads to self-destruction and her inevitable rebirth.
The film will be entered in several student competitions, among others. at Netherlands Film Festival, Leiden Shorts, Go Shorts.
The film will be shot in 4 shooting days, which will take place in the 2nd week of May. (9-05 to 20-05).

ACTING STYLE
We are looking for actresses who can act 'small'. The film will contain little dialogue, so it is extra important that your facial expression is good. Both characters have a dominant/tough personality. Manu, on the other hand, also has a soft and vulnerable side, which she tries to hide from the outside world.
