My name is Jop Gorris, I am a Dutch Aikidoka who now studies Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu (Katori Shinto Ryu). For the past few years, I have been intertwining these interests more and more with my work as a storyteller.
In collaboration with a camera operator, we will record a Japanese-themed music video about meditation and confrontation; through meditation, one can be reborn into a courageous warrior with its heart set to protecting loved ones. Both elements of meditation and combat will be visualized, and supported by a simple narrative of one warrior versus another. The tone will be cinematic/classical/epic.
This music video is an artistic side project, linked to a bigger umbrella project.
Shooting in Amersfoort at the end of June, weather permitting.
This project has no financial plan, which means that our collaboration has the main objective of creating something beautiful. However, we can agree on a fee of EUR 100,- to be paid once (and if) the umbrella project reaches a financial target of EUR 1000. Travel expenses will be covered regardless of that.

Acting experience is not required, although it is important that you can immerse with a dramatic narrative.
We will create a fighting choreography from scratch, followed by the video shoot itself. Choreography incl. rehearsal can be scheduled anytime.
