One Task a Day to Success

No one ever says becoming a successful actor is easy.
You might have the looks, the talent, the ability, and the training… but it takes more.
Much more.
It takes effort.
It takes stamina.
It takes time.
It takes… one task a day.

Every day…

If you really do want to become a successful working actor, then today start working.
And then, every single day, do at least one thing to further your career.
It doesn’t matter how big or how small, but just by doing something regularly, you’ll build up experience, confidence, skill, and your chances of landing that great job just around the corner.
And just to start you off, here are simple, effective, actions which will improve your chances:
  1. Apply to a casting call
  2. Update your CV
  3. Search IMDB for open castings and apply to the production
  4. Find a local director or filmmaker on Social Media and follow them – who knows when they’ll post a casting?
  5. Learn a short monologue by heart to keep you in practice
  6. Attend an acting class
  7. Find a local agent and email them, see if they’ll take you on or…
  8. If you have an agent, check in with them to see what’s happening
  9. Send your CV and cover email to a local production company
  10. Get in touch with a local film school to see if they need actors
  11. Watch a film “critically” and make notes about the actors – what you like or dislike, etc
  12. Attend an audition
  13. Publicly post something “actory” and positive on your Social Media – who knows who’s reading it?
  14. Read a chapter of a book or an online article about being an actor and follow good advice
  15. Talk to someone in the profession and compare notes and help each other
  16. If you’re not on enCAST yet, join us
  17. And so on and so on…
Just do the thing and write it in your notebook. As long as the single task you do is related to acting, then it’s fine.
It may not seem much, but trust us, in time it will build and one of the small things you do will come back with big dividends!
