The Lighting Crew

And making sure everything looks good on film is the lighting crew. As you might expect they will light the set and make sure it looks like it should. This is a long process so you’ll find that every time the camera is moved (to get a different angle on the shot) you will have anything up to an hour or so to wait while lights are shifted and set up.

The boss of the lighting crew is known as the gaffer (their first assistant is the best boy).

The lighting crew can be recognised by the gloves they wear. Like the camera crew, they often have belts with loads of things dangling from them.
