Your Quick Intro

calling card

Your Quick Intro is incredibly important so take some time to get it right.

It is the first thing a Casting Director (CD) will see on your calling card after your headshot, and it needs to tell them in just one or two sentences who you are.

What your quick intro is – and is not

It’s not your biography. It’s not your CV. It’s not a link to your IMDB profile or somewhere else. It’s not a quote about how brilliant you are.

No.

Your Quick Intro is a thumbnail sketch of you to give CDs a taste of who you are and how they can cast you. Ideally they should reference your type as well and where your strengths lie.

Madeleine is an experienced TV actor and has appeared on several soaps in Germany, often playing the “lost” and slightly ditzy female comic relief.

Daniel works mainly in film, often playing the upper-class Englishman; a kind of modern David Niven.

I began acting when I was 7 years old and love the theatre, especially musical theatre. My last role was Lauren in Kinky Boots which toured for 8 months across Ireland.

As you can see from these examples, they give the CD a taste of who you are.

How to add or edit your quick intro

Your Quick Intro appears on your profile calling card so it’s very prominent.

To add or edit it, go to EDIT MY PROFILE and then click on the EXTRA INFO tab.

Space is limited so your quick intro can be just one or two sentences long (actually 300 characters is the limit).

Please do NOT include links (either URLs or email addresses) in the Quick Intro as they are not converted and will be taken out automatically when the profile is saved.
