Closed Sets
One question you might like to raise is whether the sex scene will be filmed on a “closed set”.
This means that for that scene all non-essential personnel are asked to leave. For example this might mean that when you are filming a bedroom scene there is just the director, the camera operator, the sound recorder, wardrobe, you and your co-actor (or sometimes on a highly closed set just the director and the actors).
If having a closed set will make you feel more comfortable, then do ask for this. The director – if they are good – will understand they can get a better performance from you if you are more comfortable and will oblige.
Starship Troopers: the nude shower scene
In 1997 Dutch director Paul Verhoeven made the film, Starship Troopers. This included a famous scene where many of cast – both male and female – take a communal shower.
The cast reportedly only agreed to do the scene if director Verhoeven was naked also… which he agreed to.
