Adding Casting Specific Material to a Submission

Sometimes a casting will ask you to submit very specific material. For example:

  • a photo of your hands or wearing a hat
  • a self-tape video where you perform a specific scene
  • you on a bicycle

It can be almost anything and when this happens, here is how you submit that material.

A video

If the casting asks for a self-tape or a short, specific video:

  1. make the video (see here for help on making self-tapes)
  2. upload it to your YouTube of Vimeo account
  3. add the video link to your enCAST profile (see here for how to do this)
  4. when you submit for this job, make sure to select the new video to send to the production (see here for this)

Note that if the video is very specific and you don’t want it on your profile, you can do this:

  1. make the video
  2. upload it to your YouTube of Vimeo account and note the URL for the video
  3. when you submit for this job, include the video URL in the body of your message, e.g. I have upload my self-tape for this casting here: https://youtu.be/5oKWrY5hfEc

A photo

It’s very similar when you need to add a specific photo to your submission:

  • add the photo to your enCAST profile (see here)
  • when you submit for this job, make sure to select the new picture to send to the production (see here for this)

Hidden Pictures or Videos

Sometimes you will not want the pictures or videos to be publicly viewable on your profile.

To keep them hidden from general view, simply click the PRIVATE button when you upload/edit the picture or video. You can still use the video or picture when you submit for the job, but other users on enCAST will not be able to see it when they look at your profile.
