about the project
For a mini web series titled ”The Salon” (working title). It’ll be a drama which covers the theme of grief and motherhood.
The series follows Annika who owns a hairdressing salon which is a part of her fathers funeral home. It is designed to be a place where clients can make sure they look as they desire before attending a funeral, giving them an opportunity to find a moment of serenity before confronting a difficult situation.
Shooting between 28th of November and the 2nd of December 2022 in Berlin.
Casting at MetFilm School Berlin, on 18th November.

Amalia is a 16 year old girl. She is short and has straight blonde hair. She is an international school student She is very ambitious but her mother is also very pushy and has high expectations of her. She takes a while to open up, but once she is comfortable with people she talks a lot.
She is a client in Annika’s Salon and she is getting ready to attend the funeral of one of her classmates. This is the first time Amalia has to face grief.

She is quite troubled even though she might not show it. From a very early age, she has been in disagreements with her mother over the family business. The expectations of Annikas’ mother, made them drift apart and now she will be faced with the difficulties of reconnecting with her.
Annika is a kind and reliable woman who is in touch with her emotional intelligence towards others. Her independence makes her efficient, however she tends to be defensive and protective over her own life making it difficult for her to open up and seem stubborn. As of recently Annika has been quite lonely, her salon and her business is everything to her making her, shutting her out from potentially making friends outside of just business.
Annika has been surrounded by death her whole life with ease, but her world turns upside down when she finds out that her estranged mother is dying of cancer.

She is one of Annika’s clients and she is getting ready to attend a funeral of the deceased wife of the man that she is in love with.
Marianne is a German lady. She is elegant in the way she carries herself- she’s fit for her age, always nicely dressed, and wears a lot of jewellery. She dyed her hair to hide her graying hair, but chooses a colour that looks natural on her. Marianne is talkative, full of energy, quite confident and has a way to get what she wants.
