GERMANY: actors (m), 20-30, English spkrs, for short film in Dortmund [P]

Dear film community,

I’m an independent filmmaker based in Germany who’s been establishing a vast portfolio of more than 10 quality short films over the past two years, which you can check out on my website.

For my latest project, I require three passionate actors, fluent in the English language (preferably native speakers!), who can tackle long, uninterrupted dialogue scenes.

It’s a 30 page screenplay, meaning the runtime will be about half an hour. The film features an ensemble of three characters, takes place in one room, happens in real time and is to be directed to look like one continuous shot. This means there will be an over-abundance of long takes shot in handheld. (For reference, this project was inspired by the likes of Birdman and 1917.)

Synopsis

Three ex-college friends, each now turned screenwriters, agree to meet up to write something together. Past tensions between Joey and Carl lead to fast-paced, competitive & loud dialogues, and a shocking second half and ending.

Schedule

APRIL

Rehearsals/readings with all actors (online), likely 2 – 3 times.

MAY

Quick full test shoot at the location with all actors. This is to test out the shot list, get a rough cut, and prepare the actors for what’s to come.

JUNE

Shooting. This should take no longer than a week (max. 7 days).

JULY & AUGUST

Editing. I plan on releasing it in late August, as well as submitting it to various film festivals.

Catering

I will provide the actors with sandwiches and bottles of water every day. Since the budget is very low, this is all I can do. I hope you can understand.

Location

The entire film is to be shot at a hotel apartment in Dortmund. We will meet there every day. Be aware: I can not pay for any rides/forms of transportation.
